Wilma Allenson Andrews, age 90, a resident of Nichols/Trumbull, living in the area for over 60 years, and widow of John Wesley Andrews, Sr. died peacefully at home on Friday, November 7th, 2014. She was born in Pawtucket, RI to Chester Willans Allenson and Maria Garner Allenson. Immediate survivors include her son John W., Jr. and his wife Beverly of New Orleans, LA; son David A. and his wife Janet of Cocoa, FL; and son Bruce W. of Los Angeles, CA. Also, grandson John W. III, his wife Melissa and their two children of New Orleans, along with granddaughter Victoria Cocheran, her husband Chris and their five children, also of New Orleans. During her lifetime dedicated to her family, and working various jobs earlier in her life, she also provided a great many hours of voluntary service to many organizations, primarily the Shakespeare Guild, Square One Theatre, Nichols Garden Club and Bridgeport Hospital (for over 40 years). She became a lifetime member at the Housatonic Boat Club and was a long standing member of Christ Episcopal Church, in Stratford, where she served on the vestry and other committees. There will be no calling hours and a memorial service will be held at the church at a future date to be announced.
