William Green, age 91, of Stratford, CT, husband of the late M. Frances Coakwell Green, passed away on Sunday July 3, 2016 at Grace House of Windham, Windham, NH. Born in County Durham, England he was the son of the late William and Marjorie Robley Green. He served in the Royal Air Force and moved to Canada where he met and married his beloved wife Frances who predeceased him in 1983. William was an engineer for Avco Lycoming before his retirement in 1987. He was involved in the First Congregational Church, the Stratford YMCA and the Stratford Exchange Club. He enjoyed family, golf and was a proud patron of the Blue Goose Restaurant. Survivors include: his devoted children Robert Green and his wife Suzanne of Derry, NH, Thomas Green and his wife Keli of Enfield, NH, Pamela Hauben and her husband Harold of Woodbridge, CT, John Green and his partner, Heidi Jowett of Novato, CA, a sister in law, Connie Green of England, 11 grandchildren, Matthew, Jonathan, Elisabeth, Austin, Megan, Riley, William and Jennifer Green, and Jeremy, Stacey and Bradley Hauben, and several nieces and nephews in England and Canada. He was predeceased by his brothers Thomas and George Green and sister Audrey Green. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday July 16, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in the First Congregational Church, 2301 Main St., Stratford, CT. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, Stratford.
