Obituary

William Calvin "Bill" Saray, 77, passed away on November 21, 2024, in his hometown of Monroe, CT. Bill was born on August 5, 1947, in Bridgeport, CT.

Bill was known for his great sense of humor and the joy he brought to those around him.  He was an exemplary craftsman, from wooden boxes and bowls to building homes. He was an avid gardener and landscaper and took pride in caring for his property. Bill had a love for cars and car racing, boating and waterskiing either on Lake Zoar with his family or Long Island Sound with friends. He also enjoyed skiing and snowmobiling through the hills of Vermont and New Hampshire with his wife Nancy. They would also take annual trips to the Caribbean to celebrate their anniversary.

Bill was always there for family and friends with a helping hand for any challenge; mechanical, electrical or wordworking. Bill was the true "Bill of all Trades".
Bill spent over four decades as the Facilities Manager at William B. Meyer, Inc. in Stratford, CT, where his dedication and work ethic were greatly valued. He had many good friendships over the years through this employment.

He leaves behind his beloved spouse, Nancy Saray; son, Kenneth and his spouse, Debbie, along with their daughters, Allison Grace and Alicia Nicole; daughter, Shannon Mullen and her family; and son, William Saray and his family. He is also survived by his sister, June and her husband, Stanley Topar, their son (Bill's godson) Bradley, his wife, Gabriele, and their son, Oliver; as well as his cousin, John Emery and his family. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Grace Elizabeth and William Richard.

A private service will be held for the family to honor Bill's life. The arrangements are being handled by Dennis & D'Arcy - Abriola & Kelemen Funeral Home in Stratford, CT. Bill's presence will be deeply missed as he was loved by many and will be missed by all.
