Thomas Joseph Matyasovszky, age 73, of Bridgeport husband of Jean Mastronardi Matyasovszky passed away on Wednesday April 3, 2019 at Regal Care in Southport. Born in Bridgeport he was the son of the late Julius and Julia Blizman Matyasovszky. He was employed by the City of Bridgeport for 25 years before retiring and also served in the US Navy. Thomas loved watching sports especially wrestling. He was a kind and loving man and husband who would do anything for you without thinking of himself. Survivors in addition to his wife include a son, Anthony (Linda) Matyasovszky of Bridgeport, a stepson, George Penny of SC, 2 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, a brother, Julius Matyasovszky, sisters, Marie Gosselin, Patricia Fleming, Rose Rivera and Christine Matyasovszky. He was predeceased by his sister, Irene Matyasovszky, and brothers, Arthur and John Matyasovszky. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, April 11, 2019 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm in the Dennis & D'Arcy – Abriola & Kelemen Funeral Home, 2611 Main St. Stratford with a funeral service starting at 6:30 pm with Deacon Luis Torres of St. Peter's Church officiating. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory can may be made to the family.
