Theodore S. Bartram, age 88, formerly of Huntington, beloved husband of 62 years to the late Kathryn Lynch Bartram, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his family on Wednesday January 14, 2015 at St. Mary's Hospital, Waterbury. Ted was born in Bridgeport the son of the late Samuel and Ethel William Bartram.
He was a truly loved father of Mark Bartram and his wife Debbie of New Hampshire and Debbie Bodnar and her husband Tom of Watertown, CT and son-in-law Jack Adams of Florida. He was a grandfather to Melodie Macsay and her husband Tim and Colin Bartram, all from New Hampshire, Kelli Sue Adams of Florida, Ethan Bodnar, Nathaniel Bodnar and Sean Bodnar all of Watertown CT and great grandfather to Madison and Savanna Macsay. Their beloved G-Pa will be missed greatly for he filled their lives with laughter, his love of the Mets, Pinochle and a sincere love for each other. Also survived by his two sisters, Irene Himmelberger of Florida and Marie Goodin of Milford and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased in addition to his wife by his loving daughter Karen Adams of Florida and his two brothers, George and Bob Bartram. Known to his friends as Ted, he served in the Army Air Force during WWII.
During his building career, he built over 100 homes in the Huntington, CT area and was an avid furniture maker. Ted was known as a gentle sole and cherished time with his family. He loved cats and enjoyed turkey dinners and his sweets.
Ted attended Stratford High School. He enjoyed bowling, swimming, reading and traveling. At the end of his career he worked with his best pal he called "his brother" Peter.
A heartfelt thank you is extended to the Vitas Team at St. Mary's. Friends and relatives are invited to attend funeral services on Saturday January 17, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in the Dennis & D'Arcy – Abriola & Kelemen Funeral Home, 2611 Main St. Stratford with the Rev. Lucille Fritz, Pastor of the Huntington Congregational Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Shelton. Visiting hours will be held on Friday (Today) January 16, 2015 in the funeral home from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and also on Saturday morning from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. prior to services.
