Sunghee "Sam" Lee (March 15, 1935-July 31, 2013) of Farmingdale, NY,
Beloved husband of Rev. Koonae Annie Lee, father of Patrick, Mark and David Lee, father-in-law of Jane Cha-Lee and Hannah Lee, and grandfather of Josiah Lee. Mr. Lee was born in Tokyo, Japan and emigrated to Korea at the age of 12. He graduated from Choong Ang High School and earned a bachelor's degree in physics from Seoul National University, Seoul Korea. He then served as a high school teacher and as a scoutmaster for the Boy Scouts of Korea. In 1967 he immigrated to the United States to study as part of the Senator William J. Fulbright Scholar program at CUNY Brooklyn College as a PhD candidate, where he eventually graduated with a master of arts degree in mathematics in 1972. He then worked at Met Life, CBS Inc. and IBM Corporation in Poughkeepsie, NY. Sam is also survived by his brother, Tae Hee Lee, and sister in law, Okhee Lee and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at the Dennis & Darcy – Abriola & Kelemen Funeral Home, 2611 Main Street, Stratford on Friday, August 2, 20013 from 5pm until 9pm. Funeral services will be held at the Stratford United Methodist Church on Saturday morning, August 3, 2013 at 9:30am. Interment will follow in Pinelawn Cemetery, Farmingdale, NY.
