Stephen J. Martonak Jr., age 59, of Ansonia passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at Griffin Hospital with his loving family by his side.  Born in Ansonia on May 23, 1965 he was the son of the late Stephen J. Martonak Sr. and Jessie Mitchell Martonak. Steve worked at Sikorsky Aircraft for 41 years. His most cherished role was his pride and devotion to his kids. He loved Nascar and working on cars, especially his 1972 Barracuda. Steve enjoyed his sports as well, he was a huge Minnesota Vikings fan, along with being a big Knicks and Yankees fan. A true animal lover, with a quiet demeanor and a kind soul, who will be missed dearly by his family and friends. Steve is survived by his devoted children, Michael (Paige) Martonak of Shelton, Cora (Jacob) Martonak of Stratford and sister Diane (Marc) Patterson of SC. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Tyler and Jordan as well as nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by sister Margaret Valenti and her husband Philip Valenti Jr. The family would like to thank all the nurses and staff at Griffin Hospital and Hospice for their care and compassion during his final days.  A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 21, 2025 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at the Dennis & D'Arcy – Abriola & Kelemen Funeral Home, 2611 Main Street, Stratford.  There will be no services and interment will be private.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Ansonia Animal Shelter.
