Stella Calzone Russo age 94 of Stratford, widow of Michael J. Russo, passed away peacefully at Lord Chamberlain Health Care surrounded by her family on Tuesday December 8, 2015. Born in Stratford she was the daughter of the late John and Carmella (Millie) Schirillo Calzone. Stella was a graduate of Stratford High School and was a seamstress for Warner Brothers before staying home to take care of her family. She loved playing cards, sewing and baking. Survivors include her beloved daughter, Michele Brennan and her husband Gary of Stratford and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her brother, Anthony Calzone, Sr. The family would like to thank Dee Miller, Lisa Lee, the 4th floor staff and all the compassionate people at Lord Chamberlain who cared so lovingly and offered great comfort to Stella during her stay. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday December 13, 2015 from 2:00 to 6:00 pm in the Dennis & D'Arcy – Abriola & Kelemen Funeral Home, 2611 Main St. Stratford. Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday December 14, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. in St. James Church, Stratford with Rev. Bruce Roby celebrant.
