Shirley VanSleet, age 94, of Stratford, passed away on Sept 4, 2023. Shirley was born in Stratford to the late Edward and Laura Powling VanSleet. She was an active member of the Stratford Baptist Church and was active in the Women's Missionary Society Dorcas Circle, and the former secretary-treasurer of ABCCONN State Women's Missionary Society.  She was a retired bookkeeper for Alfa Distributors, and an avid square dancer, reader and a caregiver to her beloved family.  She was predeceased by her brothers, E. Harvey VanSleet and Edward VanSleet and her sister Ruth.  Survivors include several nieces and nephews. All services were held privately.
