Ruth M. Throp, age 85, of Stratford, widow of Richard J. Throp passed away on Tuesday January 7, 2014 at Bridgeport Hospital. Born in Holyoke, MA she was the daughter of the late Walter and Erna Foerster Leach. Ruth was a registered nurse with Bridgeport hospital and retired after 42 years of service. She was a member of the Connecticut Nurses Association, the Eastern Star and enjoyed gardening and traveling with her husband Richard. Survivors include two cousins, Leroy ( Barbara) Guenette and Jean Fitzgerald. All services will be held privately with entombment in Mt. Grove Pilgrimage Mausoleum.
