Ruth Mildred Rauscher, age 94 of Stratford passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 2, 2015 at her home. She was the widow of Frederick Rauscher. Born in Bridgeport on January 25, 1921 she was the daughter of the late Edwin and Elsie Thornton. Ruth was a receptionist for many years at the Dental Office of Norman Fuller before her retirement. She is survived by her loving children; David Rauscher and his wife Kathleen of Bridgeport and Nancy Mahmood and her husband Louis of Stratford. 4 grandchildren and their spouses; Christine (John) Uhrynowski, David Mahmood, Laura (Duncan) Sherwood and Karen (Michael) Murray. She is also survived by great grandchildren; Megan, Melissa, Connor and Paige, several nieces and nephews and her devoted caregiver Arlene Bobb. In addition to her husband she was predeceased by her brother Wesley Thornton. Funeral Services will take place on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at 11:00 am at the Stratford United Methodist Church with Pastor Law officiating. Interment will follow in the Park Cemetery, Bridgeport.
