Ruth E. Wells Desrosiers, age 93, of Stratford, widow of Edmond Desrosiers passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Friday January 8, 2016. Born in Stratford on April 3, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Nathan and Mabel Warren Wells. Ruth was a lifelong member of the First Congregational Church in Stratford and was a member of the Senior Choir for 60 years and was an original member of the Stratford Oratorio Choir for which she did solo work on many occasions. Ruth also served on many committees within the church and was a past chairperson of the music committee and was a member of the Fairfield Christian Women's Club and served on the executive board for many years. Survivors include her beloved children; daughter, Judy A. Hill and her husband Stewart of Rancho Mirage, CA, daughter, Sherry A. Danner and her husband Fred of Wallingford and son, Bruce D. Arnold and his wife Carol of Phoenix, AZ. A brother, Warren E. Wells and his wife Marion of Nassau, NY and a sister Gertrude W. Wilson of Stratford. Also survived by 9 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and one niece and one nephew. She was predeceased by two grandchildren.
Friends are invited to attend funeral services on Saturday January 16, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. in the First Congregational Church , 2301 Main St. Stratford. Burial will follow in Putney Cemetery, Stratford. There will be no visiting hours and in lieu of flowers donations in her memory can be made to the First Congregational Church or to Boys Town, 14100 Crawford St , Boys Town, NE 68010.
