Russell Brian ( Uncle Awesome) Benson, age 48, of Bridgeport passed away peacefully at St. Vincent Medical Center on Saturday January 14, 2017. Born in Bridgeport on December 25, 1968, he was youngest child of the late Lowell and Phyllis Hoffman Benson and was a graduate of Bullard Haven Tech. Russell was an avid Yankees fan and was involved in the Bridgeport Little League. Survivors include his devoted brothers and sisters; Raymond (Linda) Benson, Peggy (Frank) Claus, Gary Benson, Lowell (Tina) Benson, Timothy (Daisy) Benson, Theresa (Stanley) Lipka and Patricia (Carl) Maiorino. He had a tremendous love for his niece, Gloriana and his nephews, Mason and Landon. Russell is also survived by many additional loving nieces and nephews.
