Roberta Ann Brainard, 72, wife of Anthony Brainard, Sr., of Meriden, Connecticut passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2020.

Roberta, a loving wife, mother and grandmother, was born on July 15, 1948, in Bridgeport, Connecticut, to Charles and Helen Boyle.

A graduate of Bassick High School, Roberta is a retired employee of People's United Bank and Connecticut National Bank.

On July 15, 1968, (the same date that she was born), Roberta married Anthony P. Brainard, who she was married to for 52 years.

Roberta, who was the oldest of nine brothers and sisters, enjoyed being part of a large family. She was a kind, gentle woman who made everyone around her feel welcome. She loved to travel with her husband and family, with some of her favorite places being the Casino and Walt Disney World.

In addition to her husband, Roberta is survived by son, Brian (Tanya) Brainard of Shelton; son-in-law Dave Shingler-Sandstrom of North Haven; and son Anthony (Lori) Brainard Jr., of Stratford; six grandchildren, Dylan Brainard, Devin Brainard, Christopher Malatesta, Callie Shingler, Lauren Brainard and Carly Brainard, and several nieces and nephews.

Roberta was predeceased in death by her father Charles, her mother Helen, and her daughter Christine.
