Robert R. O'Neill of Bridgeport and Pawcatuck, CT passed away on Thursday February 2, 2017 after a battle with a short and unexpected illness. He was born on November 10, 1951 in Stamford, CT, and was the son of the late Richard and Ann O'Neill (Yeruc). He was 65 years old.

Robert, "Bob," was raised in Darien, CT and graduated from Darien High School. He was an employee of the New Canaan Post Office for many years. He is survived by his longtime partner, Fran Rakoczy. He is also survived by his brother Alan O'Neill of Milford, CT, his sister Diane O'Neill and her husband Gene LeQuire of Anchorage, AK. Bob was also a devoted father and grandfather. He is survived by his daughter Kristin Hermes, her husband Thomas, and their children Grace and Charlie. He is also survived by his son Michael, his wife Megan, and their children Deacon and Preston.

Bob loved music, playing guitar, road trips, and days at the beach. He cherished times with his grandchildren. He will be deeply missed.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday February 8, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the Dennis & D'Arcy – Abriola & Kelemen Funeral Home, 2611 Main Street, Stratford followed by a memorial service and remembrance from friends at 6:30 p.m. Interment will be private.
