Robert Joseph
Iannotti
d. May 13, 2024
Robert "Bob" Joseph Iannotti, age 77, passed away at St. Vincent's Hospital on Monday, May 13, 2024. Bob and his "older" twin brother, Richard, were born to the late Michael and Sadie Iannotti on August 30, 1946, in Bridgeport, Connecticut. He was the third of five children. In addition to his brother Richard (Sharon) Iannotti, Bob is survived by his sister - Lynn (John) Brantley; sister-in-law, Deborah Iannotti; nieces- Gina, Dawn, and Mariah; and nephews -Thomas and Marcus. Bob is predeceased by his brothers, Michael and Kenneth, and his niece - Kendra.
Bob enlisted in the United States Air Force when he was 19. He served in Vietnam from 1968 to 1969. In 1969, he was awarded a Commendation Medal for meritorious service as an administrative specialist in the 21st Tactical Air Support Squadron. When Bob returned to civilian life, he attended Housatonic Community College, the Connecticut School of Banking, and the National School of Finance and Management. All of Bob's professional life was in the banking industry. Those who worked with Bob described him as meticulous and thorough. He was a stickler for adhering to the banking procedures and protocols in which his clientele accounts were safeguarded. After spending many years working as a senior banking executive in a number of banks, he finished his career as comptroller at the New Haven Savings Bank.
Bob loved to cook. His family, friends, and acquaintances frequently received deliciously prepared Italian dishes, famous Christmas pasta sauce, and nourishing soups. Bob was also known for his gift of song. He was a member of several choirs – Olivet Congregational of Bridgeport, Mary Taylor Church of Milford, and First Congregational Church of Stratford. He also sang as a soloist in church services. One of the hobbies that filled Bob's life with joy and laughter was the time he spent playing Texas Hold 'Em with his cousins on the weekends.
Many individuals had a tremendous impact on Bob's happiness. Gary Moroni (deceased) and Robert Mihaley were two who gave him unconditional acceptance and companionship. Bob's generous spirit and acerbic wit enriched the lives of his relatives and friends. His memory will be indelibly etched in our hearts.
He leaves to mourn close aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the music ministry at First Congregational Church of Stratford in memory of Robert Iannotti.
