Robert A. Hunter, age 54 of Seymour, passed away on Tuesday March 3, 2015 at Shady Knoll Health Care. Born in Hempstead, Long Island, New York, he was in the retail food industry and was a volunteer at local schools reading books to children. Robert was a merit badge trainer for the Boys Scouts of America and an avid Elvis fan. He loved old television shows and enjoyed spending time with his family celebrating holidays and birthdays. Survivors include his father, Walter R. Hunter and his wife Irene of New Jersey, his beloved aunt and uncle, Linda and John Doczynski of Oxford, his devoted cousins, Christina Durkin and husband Jamie of Oxford and Michael Doczynski and wife Amy of Scarsdale, NY. He was predeceased by his mother, Alice Finck Hunter and his brother James Hunter. Visiting hours will be held on Friday March 6, 2015 from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Dennis & D'Arcy – Abriola & Kelemen Funeral Home, 2611 Main St. Stratford. A funeral service will be held on Friday evening at 7:00 pm. in the funeral home with Rev. Meg Williams, officiating. Burial will be in Pinelawn Cemetery, Farmingdale, Long Island.
