Richard W. Pataky, age 85, of Trumbull, passed away Tuesday, February 27, 2024, peacefully in his home surrounded by loved ones. Raised in "Hunk Town" he was the only son of the late Arthur and Elizabeth Pataky. Richard was predeceased by his beloved wife, Linda Pataky, of 57 years and grandsons, Justin and Steven Spray. Richard served in the US Army and was a retired tool maker from Moore Special Tool. He was a proud man with a unique, witty sense of humor who loved his family dearly. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren's sporting events, traveling, target shooting, and playing canasta. Richard was known for his famous lectures, exceptional knowledge of history, love of dancing and music. Richard is survived by daughters, Janet Spray, Carole Markland and husband Joe, Margaret Pataky, and Kathy Pivarnik and husband, Rick; grandchildren Alicia (Andrew), Alaina, Briana (Sylvester), R.J. (Silvia),  Samantha and  Daniel, great-grandchildren Nathan, Priya (his Penny), sisters-in-law Nancy, Christine and Rose. The family would like to thank Richard's extended family: caregivers Salma, Trevor, Paige, Daniela, Lili, and Cayletha. A special thank you to Erin Candler and Don Knecht. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, March 3, 2024 from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. with a Funeral Service to follow at 6:00 p.m.  in the Dennis & D'Arcy – Abriola & Kelemen Funeral Home, 2611 Main St. Stratford.

A graveside service will be held on Monday at 11:00 a.m. in Mt. Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport. Please follow sign# 1 from the Main entrance at North Ave and Dewey St. to be directed to the gravesite.
