Richard Michael Kearney passed away on Wednesday, July 26th at home in Danbury surrounded by his family. He was 82. Born in Norwalk to Wilfred and Mary Kearney, Richard lived most of his adult life in Huntington and Oxford, where he and wife Suzanne raised their family. A masonry graduate of Bullard-Havens Technical High School in Bridgeport, he rose from lab technician to process engineer in his forty years at Vitramon, Inc. in Monroe. For all his professional success, it was the smallest part of who Richard was. He had a carpenter's hands, a painter's eye, and the brightest smile in the room.

Richard is survived by Suzanne Andrascik Kearney, his devoted wife of 48 years, sons Richard (Pilar), of Danbury, and Jeff (Kathleen), of New York City, as well as by three grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by sisters Marilyn Keith, of Shelton, and Sheila Fabiansky (Art), of Torrington, and brothers Edward, of Prospect, Gerald (Arlene), of Oxford, and Michael (Janice), of Milford, sisters-in-law Charlotte Kearney, of Bronson, Florida, and Alice Kearney, of Hampstead, North Carolina. He is predeceased by brothers Thomas, Robert, William, Donald, James, Jack, and Peter.

Visitation from 9:00 am to 10:00 am on Saturday, July 29, 2017 at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 733 Oxford Road, Oxford. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:00 am following the visitaion. Burial will follow at St. John's Cemetery, 2610 Nichols Avenue, Stratford. Memorial donations may be made in Richard's name to Regional Hospice of Danbury.
