Obituary

Richard "Richie" Iannotti, age 79, passed away at Yale New Haven Hospital on Thursday March 26, 2026.  Richie and his "younger" twin brother, Robert, were born to the late Michael and Sadie Iannotti on August 30, 1946, in Bridgeport, Connecticut.  He was the second of five children. Richard is survived by his wife, Sharon (Miller) Iannotti, daughter Gina, son, Thomas, grandchildren Gianna and Ciarra, sister Lynn (John) Brantley; sister-in-law, Deborah Iannotti; nieces Dawn and Mariah; and nephew Marcus.  In addition to his twin brother Robert, Richard is predeceased by his brothers, Michael and Kenneth, and his niece Kendra.

Richard enlisted in the United States Air Force when he was 19.  He served in Thailand. When Richard returned to civilian life, he first worked with the Fire Dept. at Sikorsky Aircraft. From there he worked for Southern Ct. Gas Company for over 20 years and then Burns Construction Company until his retirement in 2025. Richie had an incredible work ethic.

Richie always entered a conversation with a joke or a funny comment and took pleasure in making people laugh and feel relaxed. It is a testament to who he was, someone who always looked to engage with the people in his life-whether you just met him for the first time or knew him for a lifetime.

Many individuals were impacted by Richie's wonderful ways. He unconditionally loved and enriched the lives of his family and friends. His memory will be etched in our hearts.
