Raquel Johanna Fetchin, age 47 of Stratford, formerly of Darien and Stamford, passed away, Monday, January 23, 2017 at St. Vincent's Medical Center after a long battle with acute lymphoid leukemia. She was the beloved wife of Douglas Fetchin for 23 years. Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, she was a daughter of Norma Aymerich and the late Andres Arroyo both of San Juan. Raquel earned a Bachelor's degree in Social Work from Eastern Connecticut State University, and her work experience included Bilingual Social Worker, YMCA Regional Child Care Director and PTSA President. Raquel was a loving and devoted mother her three boys: Holden, Elliot and Carter Fetchin, all of Stratford. She is also survived by her sister Norma Arroyo of Fort Collins, CO, and nieces, Melissa and Alexandra Christowski. Raquel was additionally a proud "Rescue Mom" of several dogs. Raquel's Celebration of Life will take place on March 11th, 2017 at 1:00 PM at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation Church, located on 20 Forest Street, Stamford Connecticut 06901.
