Rachel Carmela Laufer, age 79 of Stratford passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, March 27, 2014 at St. Vincent Medical Center. Rachel was born in Bridgeport on July 15, 1934, daughter of the late Emidio and Pauline DeFelice DiMeo. She enjoyed playing cards, casino trips, decorating and loved cooking dinner for her entire family every Sunday. She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, John L. Laufer, three devoted daughters; Barbara Lill, Laura Yatsinko and Nancy Anzalone, son in laws, Richard Lill Sr, Richard Yatsinko and Mario Anzalone, all of Stratford, three sisters, Anna DiStassio, Jean Matthews and her husband Larry and Joan Fulton all of Bridgeport, seven grandchildren, Michael and Joseph Raslavsky, Samuel Wellington, Richard Lill Jr. Daniel, Stephen and Sarah Yatsinko, six great grandchildren, Mya, Skye, Sophia, Joseph, Eric and Willa. She was predeceased by her brothers,; Samuel, Fred and Sonny DiMeo and her sisters; Connie Meyer and Elsie Myers. Friends are invited to attend funeral services on Monday March 31, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Peace Church, 651 Stratford Rd. Lordship with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday March 30, 2014 from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Dennis & D'Arcy - Abriola & Kelemen Funeral Home, 2611 Main St. Stratford.
