Peter Nikolaevich, age 89, of Stratford, CT entered into eternal rest, peacefully surrounded by loved ones on February 5, 2023 at home.
Peter, a son of White Russian emigres, was born September 27, 1933, in Panchevo, Yugoslavia, to the late Larissa and Nicholas Koltypin.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Anna Koltypin, and devoted children, Vladimir Koltypin, George Koltypin and his wife Ryan along with his cherished grandchildren, Jacob, Aiden and Sophie Koltypin, Natasha Koltypin and her husband Jean-Guillaume Piccinali, Tamara Koltypin and her husband Bobby James.
Peter was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He touched many lives by being active in cultural and religious organizations and always opened his home to immigrants fleeing the Soviet Union. Peter Nikolaevich wastrue to the Church as he was the founder and benefactor of Presentation of Christ Church in Stratford, CT with George Niejelow. He was true to his country, as a member of Army and Navy Union, USA. He raised his children in the same spirit. From his childhood he was nourished with love for Russia, and a sense of duty before his Motherland. This was expressed in his participation in many patriotic organizations.
He is remembered by his co-workers at Avco Lycoming of which he retired after 35 years.
Peter was an active parishioner at St. Nicholas Orthodox Church in Stratford, CT funded by Igor Sikorsky. His magnum opus was his recent publication of the unique collection of historical articles by scholars presenting the many positive effects Imperial Russia had upon world history during the reign of the House of Romanov. Visitation will be held Monday, February 6 from 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM, Pannikhida will take place at 7:00 PM at Abriola & Kelemen Funeral Home, 2611 Main Street, Stratford, CT 06615, Tel: 203-375-0798.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, February 8 at Dennis & D'Arcy - Abriola & Kelemen Funeral Home, 2611 Main St., Stratford, CT, 06615. The burial will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, February 8 at Union Cemetery, 23 Temple Ct, Stratford, CT 06615.
