Obituary

Patrick S. Morrell, age 71 of Stratford, passed away on Monday, March 14, 2022 at Bridgeport Hospital. He was the loving husband of Sally Nash Morrell.

Patrick was born in Bridgeport on March 27, 1950 and was the son of the late Theresa Hachey Morrell and Vernon Morrell. He worked as a Tool & Die Maker for AVCO Lycoming and prior to that for Liberty Tool. Upon retiring from AVCO, Patrick formed his own small business "Connecticut Clocks & Time" where he specialized in repairing antique clocks. He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1970 through 1976 (1970 – 1973 active, 1973-1976 reserve) and fought in the Vietnam War receiving several decorations as a marksman and aircraft armament.

Pat loved the outdoors and spent a good portion of his time fishing, boating and exploring. He always had an eye for things that no one else would see.  His sense of exploration led him to several loved hobbies including metal detecting and genealogy in which he researched the Morrell lineage back to the 1700's.  His fondest hobby was that of a Grandfather imparting his sense of exploration, humor and fun with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years Sally Morrell, his three children; Samantha Ugrin and her husband Craig, Matthew Morrell, Jesse Morrell; his grandchildren Kendall Ugrin, Taryn Ugrin, Juliana Morrell, Johni Morrell, Laura Nash and Jazlyn Ramos.  He is also survived by his amazing sister Patricia Smalls and her husband Johnny Smalls as well as several nieces & nephews and great nieces & nephews.  Pat also had 2 additional siblings, Ellery Morrell and Catherine Komarowsky who had sadly passed before him.
