Pasquale John
Serreti
d. Oct 18, 2022
Pasquale John Serreti (Pat), age 92, of Stratford, passed away on Tuesday, October 18, 2022, at Yale New Haven Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Florence A. (Malyszka) Serreti.
Born in Bridgeport on January 21, 1930, he was a son of the late Carmelo Serreti and Constance Nardo Serreti. After graduating from Harding High School, he enlisted in the US Navy and served as an electrical technician who repaired warships during the Korean war. Soon after his discharge, he married his beautiful fiancé Florence, thus beginning a love affair that lasted a lifetime. The couple settled in Stratford and lived in the house he built himself for the next 60 years. After receiving his electrical license, he worked as a commercial electrician for Silverstone Electric Company and was a long-time member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical workers.
Pat's family and friends meant more to him than anything. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren, who were the joy of his life. He had a great sense of humor and kept everyone in stitches, and he loved nothing more than hosting big family dinners and serving his famous lasagna. Most will agree that Pat was generous, kind, and always willing to help others. He was an active parishioner of St. James Church, and in retirement he and his wife Florence volunteered to help clean the Church for over 13 years until they were well into their 80s. He was an avid sports fan, and when not working in the yard, tinkering around the house, or spending time with family, he could be found sitting in his favorite chair watching his beloved Mets, Giants, and Knicks.
Besides his wife Florence of 72 years, Pat is survived by his daughter, Marlene Serreti Curtis (Gary Curtis); son, James Serreti (Dawn Zynko Serreti); grandchildren, R.J., Rachael, Christopher, Andrea, Danielle, Drew, Hayley, and Rebecca; three great-grandchildren, Jackson, Quinn and Cameron; sister Norma D'Elia (David D'Elia), and several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by sisters Katherine Lisi and Lee Diamond and brothers Frank Serreti and James Serreti.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, October 24, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at St. James Roman Catholic Church, 2070 Main Street, Stratford. Interment will immediately follow in Lawncroft Cemetery, Fairfield.
