Orten L. Pengue Sr., age 95 of Stratford passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at his home with his loving family by his side. He was the widower of Marie H. Hogan Pengue. Born in Colon, Panama on April 16, 1919 he was a son of the late Arthur Pengue and Rosina Richards Pengue. Orten served his country with the US Navy during WWII. He was an engineer for Sikorsky Aircraft for 45 years before his retirement. Orten was a member of the Lordship Fathers Club, VFW Post #9460, and the Housatonic Boat Club. He was an avid golfer and skier enjoying many years of skiing with his family in Vermont. He was a life long parishioner at Our Lady of Peace Church in Lordship, where was the head usher. He is survived by his loving children; Kevin Pengue of Jupiter, FL, Sandra Askue of Oakdale, CT, Denise Duddie and her husband John of Lisbon, CT, Marie Sheets and her husband Fred of Hobe Sound, FL and Pamela Marher and her husband Terry of Naugatuck, CT. He is also survived by his brother, Arthur Pengue and his wife Carol of Orange County, CA, 15 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his beloved wife Marie he was predeceased by his son Orton L. Pengue Jr. A Mass of Christian Burial will celebrated on Friday, August 15, 2014 at 11:30am( NEW TIME CHANGE) at Our Lady of Peace Church, Lordship. There will be no prior calling hours.
