Nydia A. Kost, age 90 a life long Stratford resident passed away peacefully on Monday, August 17, 2015 with her loving family by her side. She was the devoted wife of 69 years to Stanley G. Kost. Born in Stratford on June 25, 1925 she was a daughter of the late Earl John Warner and Martha Alice Austrin Warner. Nydia worked for the Town of Stratford for a short period of time before raising her family. She was a dedicated and loving mother to her 3 children; Christopher Kost of Windsor, Claudia Kost Carey and her husband Robert of Bethel, VT and Martha Kost Gibbons of Milford. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Rob Carey and Kayla Gibbons and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters; Mildred Macuch and Dolores Jersey. Services in her memory will take place on Thursday, August 20, 2015 at 6:00 pm at the Dennis & D'Arcy – Abriola & Kelemen Funeral Home, 2611 Main Street, Stratford with Rev. Meg Williams officiating. The hours of visitation will be held Thursday, Aug. 20, 2015 from 4 to 6 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be held privately at a later date.
