Obituary

Norman F. Salveson of Stratford, CT (formerly of East Norwich, NY) passed away on November 24th, 2014 at age 91. He was very proud of his family for the way they respected and loved each other.
He is survived by Bernadette (Fullhardt), his dearly beloved wife of 62 years; his devoted sons and daughters-in-law Michael and Judy of Arlington, VA., John and Susan of Bryn Mawr, PA., and Tom and Jeannine of Fairfield, CT.; his cherished grandchildren (and their spouses) Maddy, Andrew, Avery, Kate, Paul, Peter and his wife Courtney and Christopher and his wife Katie; his amazing great grandchildren; Will, Quentin and Owen; his dear sister Edith Filippi; his 20 caring nieces and nephews and their families. He was predeceased by his parents, sister, 4 brothers, stepmother and 2 grandchildren.
He worked for New York Life Insurance Company for almost 46 years and retired in 1986 as an Assistant Vice President. He was a World War II veteran serving in the Air Force supply squadron in England and France.
An avid Yankee fan he also enjoyed golf, bowling, travel, crossword puzzles, casino trips and manhattans. At Oronoque Village he enjoyed the various club activities, especially the Village Voices, Funseekers and the Men's Club where he was treasurer for years.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend funeral services on Saturday November 29, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Mark Church, 500 Wigwam Lane, Stratford with a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery St. Monica's Mausoleum will be held privately. Friends may greet the family on Friday November 28, 2014 from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Dennis & D'Arcy – Abriola & Kelemen Funeral Home, 2611 Main St. Stratford
