Obituary

Nicholas Joseph Serpe, of Falling Waters, West Virginia, passed away unexpectedly on February 12, 2026. He was 30 years old. Our family is devastated and shocked by this loss. Nick was born September 28th, 1995 in Bridgeport to parents Donna (Serpe) Loehfelm and Joseph Brice. He was raised by his stepfather Dylan Loehfelm since he was 6 months old.

Nick had a laugh that would fill a room and make everyone around him laugh along.  He was our Chicken Little, our devourer, our procrastinator of epic proportions.  He was a deep thinker from the time he could speak and would talk for hours with anyone that would listen (even if they didn't want to).  He loved long car rides, sitting outside under the stars or at the bar with a good beer where he would divulge his useless facts, share parody songs he found on YouTube, talk about Dungeon and Dragons, video games, politics, history, you name it…he would talk about it.  Nick hated sneezing, had a dark sense a humor and could throw out sarcasm like it was a second language.  He made people feel loved and welcomed and accepted everywhere he went.

Nick moved to West Virginia eight years ago with his best friend to work for FedEx. While he was down there, he forged friendships that he cherished and looked at as his second family.  He met the love of his life Caitlyn Dalais, to whom he got engaged this past Christmas.  They were planning their future together and were so excited for what could be.

Nick is survived by his mother, Donna (Serpe) Loehfelm, stepfather Dylan Loehfelm, brother Deklan Loehfelm, his maternal grandparents Frank and Mary Serpe, paternal grandmother Timothea Loehfelm.  His aunts Rosemarie (Serpe) Young and her children Francesca and Greyson, Jennifer (Serpe) and Joseph Pacific and their son Joseph and his uncle Shane Loehfelm and his daughter Brooklyn. He is also leaving behind numerous cousins and friends that he considered family. He also leaves behind his beloved dog Kuro. He is predeceased by his paternal grandfather John Loehfelm.

On his father's side he leaves behind, his father Joseph Brice, stepmother Kristen, brother Hunter and paternal grandmother Gloria DiStassio and Maternal grandmother Laurie Russell and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
