Nellie Pauline Wirth, 79, of Stratford died on Monday, December 31, 2018 at Masonicare, Wallingford.

Nellie was born in Bridgeport to the late Carl and Grace Olsen Wirth. She attended Central High School and Mount Ida College, Newton, Massachusetts. She worked at Raybestos Manhattan and Sikorsky Aircraft and was a resident of Stratford for the past 25 years. Nellie was a long-standing member of the Unity Hill United Church of Christ, Women's Fellowship, General Grand Chapter of the Eastern Star, and Rainbow Girls.

Nellie was an avid crafter and artist. She was involved in many activities, including doll crafters, that included knitting, quilting, sewing and painting portraits. She was dedicated to her craft and loved to use her talents to teach and support those in need.

Nellie especially enjoyed spending time with her nephew, niece and great-nieces.

She is survived by her devoted brother William Wirth (Diane) of Stratford, a nephew Carl Wirth of Milford, a niece Cheryl Wirth Santulli (Dennis) of Woodbridge and five cherished great-nieces; Jocelyn and Jordyn Wirth, and Moorea, Kyla and Amara Santulli.

The family would like to thank Masonicare Home Health and Hospice, Wallingford for her care.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 4, 2019, 2:00 p.m., at the Unity Hill United Church of Christ, 364 White Plains Road, Trumbull. A reception will follow the memorial service from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall.
