Obituary

Nellie Genevieve Brelsford passed away into the loving arms of Jesus Christ on December 9, 2015, after sharing 95 years of love and devotion with her friends and family. She was born on May 2, 1920, to the late Carlton and Ethel Schwable. Nellie was an active communicant of Christ Episcopal Church where she had been a member of the Episcopal Churchwomen, a Sunday school teacher, and a member of the visiting committee. She also was a volunteer for many years serving The American Red Cross. She was a lifelong member of the order of the Eastern Star and Amaranth. Nellie also attended the Cares program at the Baldwin Senior Center each Wednesday. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister and husband, Ethel and Joseph Carten, and her devoted husband of 69 years, Clinton Brelsford. She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Callahan and her husband, Fred, granddaughters, Carrie Albert and Megan Morelli and her husband, Joseph, and great grandsons, Matthew and Christopher Albert, and Patrick Morelli. She also leaves a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Ruth and Fred Raymond as well as many dear nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday December 13, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Dennis & D'Arcy – Abriola & Kelemen Funeral Home, 2611 Main St. Stratford. Friends and relatives are invited to attend funeral services on Monday December 14, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Christ Episcopal Church, 2000 Main St. Stratford with Rev. Scott Lee, Rector, officiating. Burial will follow in Union cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to the Book of Remembrance at Christ Church.
