Nancy Y. Hurd, age 90, of Stratford passed away peacefully on Monday, June 27, 2022 at Bridgeport Hospital.

She was born in Albania to the late Theodore and Mary Yapo in May 1932.  She came to the United States at the age of 3 arriving on Thanksgiving Day.  She spent most of her life working as manager of the box office at the American Shakespeare Theater in Stratford and then at the Shubert Theater in New Haven.  She was an avid UCONN men's and women's basketball fan and disliked missing games.

She is survived by her loving husband of nearly 63 years, Wallace W. Hurd Jr., her children Wallace W. Hurd III (Mary) of Norwalk and Robert G. Hurd of Ansonia, and her 7 grandchildren whom she adored Lauren, Kellie, Amy, Zachary, Brianna, Aisalynn and Remy.

Friends and relative are invited to attend funeral services on Friday July 1, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in St. George Orthodox Church, 5490 Main St. Trumbull. Burial will follow in Nichols Village Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may greet the family on Friday from 10:00 a.m to 11:00 a.m in church prior to services.

In lieu of flowers, the family ask that a donation be made to St. George Orthodox Church, 5490 Main Street, Trumbull CT 06611-2900.
