Morgan "Captain Morgan" Dorflinger, age 72, of Bridgeport passed away on Thursday April 27, 2017 at his home after a short illness. He was the devoted husband of Vicki Barnes Dorflinger.
Morgan was born on August 1, 1944 in Newark, New Jersey and was the son of the late Lambert Morgan Dorflinger and Margarie Forman Dorflinger. He was a graduate of Andrew Warde High School in Fairfield and was a long time resident of Fairfield and Bridgeport where he raised his family. He was the former owner of Greenfield Food Shop in Greenfield Hill Fairfield and was known for being the best butcher, ever. Morgan spent the last 25 years at Scap Motor in Fairfield. He was a man that was truly always "SUPER". He was an avid lover of the outdoors, cars, guns, boats and family – Yes in that order. If you met Morgan once, you never forgot him. He was a lover of life and a great time. If he wasn't sitting outdoors, he was cruising around with the love of his life in his beloved Mercedes convertible.
In addition to his best friend and wife of 53 years Vicki Dorflinger, he leaves behind his son Brook Dorflinger of Bridgeport, his son Drew Dorflinger and his wife Anna Boucher of Ansonia, his daughter Robin Dorlinger Hynes and her husband Peter John of Stratford and his daughter Debby J. Bruce of Bridgeport. Five grandchildren; Daniel Dorflinger, Kyle Dorflinger, Brenna, Tessie and Ashlyn Hynes, his brother Christian Dorflinger and his wife Linda, his sister Gail Dorflinger – Aldo and her husband David and the many Dobson Street and Seaver Circle kids.
Morgan is predeceased by his parents Lambert Morgan and Margarie Dorflinger, his mother-in-law and father-in-law Leslie and Betty Abbott Barnes and a grandson Drew Edward Dorflinger.
