Michael J. Daniels, age 86 of Stratford passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at the Jewish Home for the Elderly in Fairfield. He was the widower of his beloved wife Barbara J. Sutton Daniels. Michael was born in Pennsylvania on May 15, 1927 a son of the late Michael L. and Frances Daniels. He was a proud US Army Veteran during the Korean Conflict. Michael was a Control Operator for CL & P for many years until his retirement. He is survived by his four children; Michael C. (Kara) Daniels of VA, Susan A. (George) Ponganis of Stratford, Debbie (Tom) Daniels McLean of Milford and Donna (Rick) Moreau of New Milford. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Kevin Ponganis, Glenn Ponganis, Nicole (Carmine) Buono, Joseph Moreau and Michael J. Daniels and two great grandchildren; Alyssa Ponganis and Michael A. Buono. Friends are invited to greet the family on Friday, January 24, 2014 from 4 to 7 pm at the Dennis & D'Arcy – Abriola & Kelemen Funeral Home, 2611 Main Street, Stratford. A funeral service will take place on Friday evening at 7:00 pm at the funeral home with, Deacon Raymond Chervenak officiating. Interment will be held privately.
