Michael Joseph Brice, age 48, of Monroe passed away on Monday April 25, 2016 at home. Born in Bridgeport on October 28, 1967 he was the son of Gloria Olszewski DiStassio of Monroe and the late Donald W. Brice. Michael was a painter and carpet mechanic. He will be remembered for his love of animals, especially his pet cats, his gift and ability to release immediate forgiveness to others and his infectious smile. Gatherings on special occasion with his family were especially important to Michael. His family is grateful that Michael's last few months of life were his happiest. Survivors in addition to his mother include his son, Michael Joseph Brice of Newtown, a sister, Lori L. (Leonard) Alterio of Monroe, brothers; Donald W. (Donna) Brice of Monroe, Patrick J. Brice of Bridgeport, Joseph N. (Kristin) Brice of Fairfield and Anthony A. DiStassio III of Westport and aunts; Barbara Olszewski of Stratford and Florence Olszewski of Maine. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday April 28, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Dennis & D'Arcy – Abriola & Kelemen Funeral Home, 2611 Main St. Stratford. Funeral services will take place in the funeral home starting at 7:30 p.m. following the visitation. Graveside services will be held on Friday April 29, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Michael's Cemetery.
