Mary Michelle Packo departed this earth at her home on October 5, 2022, in her 91st year.

Born of Italian-American parents, a life-long resident of Stratford, which she loved, she attended Nichols Elementary and Stratford High.  Wedded in 1949 to Richard Packo, she is survived by their three children, and three granddaughters.

Mary was modest yet had a clever gaiety and preferred not to be idle. A devoted daughter, wife and mother, her concerns and ambitions were in every way dedicated to the happiness of her family – including the home care of her mother, father and mother-in-law during their final days.  Over several decades she enthusiastically worked at numerous part-time jobs, practical and proud to accomplish new things while earning extra money to share with her children.

A member of the Marian Guild, a regular at the Baldwin Center for many years, her enjoyments included being sociable, preparing Italian meals, musical extravaganzas, reading biographies and true crime - but especially pampering the many pets she adopted to help her prevail over life's difficulties.

Wiser and with more spirit than she gave herself credit for, Mary Packo rarely wished ill of anyone and always maintained an innocent heart.

Her wake will be held at Stratford's Dennis & D'Arcy – Abriola & Kelemen Funeral Home, 2611 Main Street on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m., with a funeral service at 11:00.
