Mary (Maryann) A. Manente, age 80 of Shelton passed away on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at Bridgeport Hospital after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer. She was the widow of her beloved husband Cosimo (George) Manente. Born in Bridgeport on June 15, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Pasquale and Antoinette Coscia Angelicola. Maryann began her career as the supervisor of shipping & receiving at the Waltham Watch Co. and retired as the supervisor of the mail room at Dicta Phone after many years. Mary is survived by her devoted children; Carmela Grasso and her husband Daniel Jr. of Bridgeport and Anthony P. Manente of Bridgeport. She is also survived by her special and supportive nieces; Joann Martone and Cheryl Giasullo and her dear friend Donna Toth. A Mass of Christian Burial will celebrated on Saturday, August 31, 2013 at 10:30 am at St. Margaret's Shrine in Bridgeport. Interment will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, Stratford.
