Mary Elizabeth Haggerty, age 79, of Bridgeport passed away on Sunday November 12, 2017 at St. Vincent Medical Center. Born in Bridgeport she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Julia Ryder Haggerty. She was a cutter at Mohawk Curtin Company in Bridgeport for twenty years before her retirement. She had previously worked for Lauralton Hall in Milford. Mary enjoyed knitting, crocheting, cooking and taking walks around the neighborhood. Survivors include three brothers; Thomas J. (Harriet) Haggerty Jr. of Milford, William (Cheryl) Haggerty of Poughkeepsie, NY and Raymond (Linda) Haggerty of Bridgeport. She was predeceased by her brother Vincent Haggerty. Also survived by three sisters; Cathleen Haggerty of Bridgeport, Julia (Ken) DeCiccio of Stratford and Patricia Szabo and her companion Ken Russo of Bridgeport, niece, Colleen Volpe and nephew, Richard Volpe and several additional nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to attend her funeral Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at 11:00 am in the Dennis & D'Arcy - Abriola & Kelemen Funeral Home, 2611 Main St., Stratford with Deacon Raymond Chervenak officiating.
