Mark Scott Rivera, age 47, a life long resident passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2013 a St. Vincent's Medical Center with his loving family by his side. He was the devoted husband of Maritza Negron Rivera. Mark was born in Bridgeport on May 18, 1966, a son of Lydia Torres Rivera of Bridgeport and the late George L. Rivera Sr.. He received his bachelors degree from the University of Bridgeport and has worked as an inside sales representative for United Rentals for many years. Mark had a passion for paint balling, camping and motorcycles. In addition to his beloved wife and mother he is survived by children; Mark Anthony Rivera and Ciara Rivera both of Bridgeport. He is also survived by his brother, Jorge Rivera of Somerville, FL his grandson Isaiah and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews. He is also survived by a special family friend Audrey. He was predeceased by his brother Harry Rivera. The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the doctors and nurses of St. Vincent's Medical Center for their compassionate care of Mark. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at 9:00 am at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, 25 Sherman Street, Bridgeport with Msgr. Matthew Bernelli officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Grove Cemetery, Easton.
