Marjorie G. ( McAuliffe) Joyce, age 93, widow of John E. Joyce Jr. of Stratford passed away on Tuesday January 27, 2015, at Bishop Wicke Health Center. Born in the Bronx, NY, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Helen Lawrie McAuliffe. Marjorie served as an executive secretary in the Bronx Borough President's before her retirement in 1991. She enjoyed knitting and reading, and was well known for her prolific letter-writing skills; Marjorie never forgot a birthday, graduation or anniversary. Survivors include her loving daughters; Marjorie Joyce Tabak and her husband Jeremy Tabak of Miami, FL, Jane Joyce and her husband Barry Smith of New York City, and Laura Joyce of Stratford. Five grandchildren: Megan Tabak, Deirdre Tabak and her husband Nick Nedostup, Claire Tabak Sanchez and her husband Adrian Sanchez, Madeline Smith and Christopher Smith. Also survived by a nephew, Richard Brennan and his wife Margaret and nieces, Helen Doyle and her husband William, Catherine Purinton and her husband Darryl, and her devoted caregiver Sherri Richardson. She was predeceased by her sister, Helen R. Brennan. Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday January 31, 2015 at 11:30 a.m. in St. Mark's Church, 500 Wigwam Lane, Stratford. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY. Visiting hours will be held on Friday January 30, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Dennis & D'Arcy – Abriola & Kelemen Funeral Home, 2611 Main St. Stratford.
