Marjorie Alice Brelsford, age 95 of Shelton widow of Henry Brelsford, previously of Stratford passed away on Wednesday March 11, 2015 at home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Bridgeport she was the daughter of the late Harold K. and Anna Mae Getta Andrews and was a graduate of Stratford High School class of 1937. She was a former member of the Rainbow Girls, the Eastern Star, the Golden Rooster Shop and the Stratford Baldwin Center and also was a volunteer at the VA Hospital in West Haven for the blind while they played bingo. Marjorie enjoyed quilting, crocheting, was an avid reader and loved writing to her family and wrote daily in her diary. Survivors include a son, Ronald Brelsford and his wife Johanna of Stratford, 3 daughters; Judith Brelsford and husband William Suerken of Ansonia, Nancy Piazza and husband Frank of Trumbull and Deborah Olsen and husband Kevin of Waterbury, 7 grandchildren, Gary Wycko, Bryon Brelsford, Jennifer Helmer, Mary Wycko, Cheryl, Lisa and Frankie Piazza, 4 great grandchildren, Zachary Williams, Sarah Brelsford, Matthew Brelsford and Sean Helmer and her faithful canine "Tuck" and several nieces and nephews. A special thank you to Nyema, who came every day for grandma trying to get grandma to have her hair like her!!!. She was predeceased by her brother, Kenneth Andrews and sister, Anna Mae Snow. Friends are invited to attend funeral services on Saturday March 14, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. in Christ Episcopal Church, 2000 Main St. Stratford. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held on Friday March 13, 2015 from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Dennis & D'Arcy – Abriola & Kelemen Funeral Home, 2611 Main St. Stratford.
