Obituary

Margaret "Jean" Williams, 97, passed peacefully on Friday, 4/3/2020, just a few weeks shy of her 98th birthday. Margaret, or, Jean, (as she was better known), was born in London, England on April 13, 1922. After enriching the lives of many children as their schoolteacher, she became a war-time bride and moved to the United States, where she raised three wonderful sons and a host of grandchildren. Her love of life and optimistic attitude will be missed. She always had an open door to her family and friends, and a kind word for everyone; we were fortunate to have had her for so long. She taught us to love unconditionally, and to never underestimate the joy of coffee and chocolate. She was predeceased by her two eldest sons, John Schoennagel and Michael Schoennagel, as well as her grandson Christopher Schoennagel. Survivors include: her youngest son, David Schoennagel, and his wife Linda, of Swanzey, New Hampshire; grandchildren Tracy Crowley, Kathleen Crowley, Daniel Crowley, John Schoennagel Jr., Timothy Schoennagel, Jennifer Schoennagel, David Schoennagel Jr., Lisa Fabrizio, and Victoria Schoennagel, as well as a multitude of great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren, in addition to extended family and friends. She will be buried alongside her husband Merrill Williams, at Mountain Grove Cemetery in Bridgeport, CT, and a memorial service will be announced when circumstances permit. Her family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Shelton Lakes Apple Rehab for the compassionate care they provided to her.
