Lucy Marie Rappeline, age 79 of Bridgeport passed away suddenly on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at St. Vincent's Medical Center. She was the widow of Frederick Rappeline. Born in Bridgeport on September 22, 1942, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Mobilio Penna.  Lucy worked in the deli department at Shoprite supermarket for many years, where she made many great friends. She enjoyed cooking, bingo and her trips to the casinos. She was a religious person with a strong heart for all, she liked to watch all the religious programs on TV, but mainly just wanted to be with her large family at all times. She is survived by her 5 children: Joseph DeLeon of Trumbull, Debra Berrios and her husband Wilson of Daytona Beach, FL, Paula Acevedo and her husband Angel of Melbourne, FL, Philip DeLeon of Osteen, FL and Michele DeLeon of Bridgeport. Her siblings; Philip Penna of Stratford, Barbara Segarra of Stratford, Carmella Obuchowski and her husband Tony of Bridgeport, Michele Cordero of Ansonia and Mary Ardito and her husband Richard of Stratford. She is also survived by 21 grandchildren including two that she loved as her own children; Nikko DeLeon and Michele Negron-Nieves, numerous great and great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to her beloved husband, Frederick, she was predeceased by her son, EJ DeLeon and her siblings, Roseanne Trotta, Carol Anzolletti, Carl Penna and Joseph Penna. Her visitation will take place on Saturday, August 20, 2022 from 2:00 to 5:30 PM at the Dennis & D'Arcy – Abriola & Kelemen Funeral Home, 2611 Main Street. Her funeral service will follow at 5:30 at the funeral home with Fr. Nick Pavia officiating. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital at StJude.org.
