As a kid, Louise worked summers up the farm with some of her siblings on her grandfather's farm located on Branford Hill. There was no pay at the end of the summer…just a much-enjoyed ice cream cone on the way home and a bushel of overly ripe tomatoes. Louise was always well dressed especially when going out prompting her husband to comment on what a beautiful woman she was. After marrying and setting up a household, her first pie was set on the windowsill to cool. The birds sure enjoyed that pie! She was known for her chocolate cream pie recipe. She was an avid QVC shopper causing the UPS delivery person to say, "Louise is at it again!" while clutching several packages. She was a devoted mother and housewife. She proudly declared this her occupation. She adored her husband and he adored her often saying, "he loved her from the moment he laid eyes on her." As her eyes began to fail, she still put makeup on every day. One morning having drawn on thick black "Groucho Marx" style eyebrows, we all saw it…but since she wasn't going anywhere, we said O.K. When her husband Al got his morning coffee and sat to read his newspaper, he put it down and came up behind Louise (sitting in her rocking chair) and said, "Whatever you are doing to your eyebrows – don't do it again." She replied: "What? I saw someone on TV and I liked it." Al passed away in 2023 but Louise mentioned him daily. She loved to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. Being 100% Italian, she still loved preparing corned beef and cabbage for her Irish husband. Louise was a true lady in every sense of the word. Special thanks to her daughter Donna who cared for mom these last few years.
