Lilly Maud Hussey Buckley, 89, of Bridgeport, died Tuesday, September 20, 2022, peacefully at the St. Vincent's Hospital.

Lilly was born on August 3, 1933, in the parish of St. Catherine, Jamaica. Daughter of Ciselyn Francis and George Hussey. A citizen here for over 40 years.

Lilly worked a number of jobs after leaving secondary school. Her most talked about experiences were with The Maresca's and Bridgeport Hospital, where she retired from after 36 years.

Lilly was a woman of great faith and good character. She started serving the Lord Jesus Christ at twelve (12) years old. No matter what difficulty she faced, she put her faith in God, and urged others to do the same.

Becoming a widow in November of 2013, after 43 years of marriage, Lilly would later suffer a stroke in December of 2014, which left her with left side paralysis. She was cared for at home by loving family members. Genuine and dedicated to the core. No matter how sick she felt or even sad, she was instantly better once she learned that Pastor was coming to visit.

Mrs. Buckley as she was known to many, is survived by 4 sisters, 2 brothers, nieces, nephews, grand and great grand, in-laws, dear friends and a host of other family members.

Viewing for Mrs. Buckley will be on October 8, 2022, at 10:00AM with the funeral service following thereafter at 11:00AM, at The First Baptist Church of Fairfield, 65 Church Hill Road, Fairfield, CT 06825.

Interment will immediately follow the service at The Mountain Grove Cemetery, 2675 North Avenue, Bridgeport, CT 06604.
