Lance I. Gunther, age 59 of Stratford passed away at home on Tuesday March 31, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Bridgeport, he was the son of Priscilla A. Staples Gunther and the late Connecticut State Senator, Dr. George L. Gunther. Lance was a life long Stratford resident and enjoyed NASCAR, boat racing and antique cars. He work on restoration of boats and cars and was a boat builder who loved nature and the sound. He and his sister would help their father clean up pollution on Long Island Sound. Survivors in addition the his beloved mother Priscilla are two sisters; Pattie K. Haselman and her husband Eugene of Gainville, VA, and Karla G. Mazzey and her husband Ronald of Stratford. nieces and nephews, Karen Gunther Chung, Stacy Egan, Sherry Mazzey Christopher Mazzey and his wife Ruth and grandnieces and nephews, Chole Chung, Christian, Brady and Jordan Egan, Ava and Colin Mazzey. Friends and relatives are invited to attend graveside services in Union cemetery, 23 Temple Court, Stratford on Friday April 3, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Ed Rawls, officiating.
