Kathryn Ryan Palmer, a longtime resident of Greenwich, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2017 at Smilow Cancer Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. She was predeceased by her husband of 38 years, Dudley B. Palmer in 1994.
Kathy was born in Brooklyn Heights, New York, daughter of the late Gerald Laurence and Miriam Smith Ryan. She attended New York schools, Columbia University and the University of Connecticut.
A member of the Patient and Guest Relations staff at Greenwich Hospital since 1984, Kathy was a familiar figure at the Information Desk. Prior to joining the department, she was a longtime volunteer with the Greenwich Hospital Auxiliary.
Survivors include her daughter Leslie Palmer Pennock (Andrew), her son Dudley B. Palmer, III (Kelly) and two beloved granddaughters Clarice Ryan Pennock and Caroline Morin Palmer. Other survivors include a stepson Nelson Palmer (Rosemary) of Arizona, a stepdaughter Judith Palmer of Florida and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers Joseph Ryan and Dennis Ryan.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at 12 noon, at the First Presbyterian Church of Greenwich, with a reception to follow in Fellowship Hall. Burial is private.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Greenwich Hospital Foundation or First Presbyterian Church.
