Kalman Dezso Nagy ,age 89, of Stratford, passed away peacefully on February 12, 2016 at Bridgeport Hospital. Born in Mezotur, Hungary, Kalman was an inspector at Sikorky Aircraft retiring after 25 years of service. He served his country proudly in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He was an avid reader and loved learning and teaching from his many books he collected. As a teen he left Hungary by himself and traveled through many countries before coming to the United States where he meet his beloved wife of 49 years Esther DeTar and raised his family. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He will be sadly missed by all. He was predeceased by his wife, Esther DeTar Nagy and a son Christopher Nagy. Survivors include his devoted daughter, Kimberly Tarshis and her husband Matt of Chesapeake, VA , 2 loving grandchildren Max and Ana and many cousins. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday February 16, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Dennis & D'Arcy – Abriola & Kelemen Funeral Home , 2611 Main St. Stratford. A Memorial service will be held on Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home following the visitation.Burial in Union cemetery will be held privately.
