Obituary

June Evitts age 94, longtime resident of Stratford passed away peacefully on Monday July 28, 2025.  Born on June 17, 1931 she was the oldest daughter of the late Helen and George Erickson.

She is predeceased by her beloved husband of 54 years, Burton Evitts, her sister Beverly Elmendorf, and her son-in law John Graham.

June is survived by her two daughters Gail Guglielmoni (Allan) and Norma Graham. Granddaughters Sandra Betzig (Jim), Tammy Guglielmoni, Melissa Guglielmoni, Dawn Lowery (Patrick), and Jessica Rocha (Alester) and her two Grandsons, Ryan Graham and Brett Guglielmoni. Great Grandchildren Fallon, Madison, Hunter, Daniel, John, and Raquel and six great-great grandchildren and four nieces. June also leaves behind her devoted canine companion, Wally who was always by her side.

June dedicated many years of service to Ohio Rubber in Stratford before her well-deserved retirement. She was a dedicated member of the Stratford United Methodist Church for over 60 years. Her faith was a central part of her life, and she found immense joy in contributing to the church, especially through her work at the church thrift shop. She also treasured her weekly card games with friends, a tradition that brought her much joy and companionship.

June had several beloved hobbies. An avid knitter, she created countless pieces, often sharing them with loved ones and friends. She was a passionate fan of UCONN Women's Basketball, always cheering on her Huskies. June also enjoyed trips to the casino, always looking forward to the excitement and a chance to try her luck.

June will be deeply missed by her family and friends and all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at the Stratford United Methodist Church. Interment will immediately follow at Union Cemetery, Stratford. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, 1500 Rosecrans Ave. Suite 200, Manhattan Beach, CA 90266 or pancan.org.
