Obituary

Josephine Senchisen Pavlucik, of Stratford passed away at the age of 101. The angels smiled as they welcomed a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend on Saturday, September 21, 2013. Josephine was born on Russian Christmas, January 6, 1912 in Ansonia, Connecticut. Josey, as she was known by those that loved her was a kind, gentle, courageous woman with a great deal of compassion for all. Everyone that knew Josephine will miss her quick witted sense of humor, her words of wisdom and her love of life. She had an incredible creative imagination and her handmade Russian Icons will live on forever. Josephine was sometimes called the Baroness of Stratford because of her regal presence, her beautiful home and her grand parties. Her dedication and love for God and the Blessed Mother have earned her a special place in heaven. God has added another special angel to his family. Josey is predeceased by her husband of many years, Andrew and her beloved son Robert "Bobby" Pavlucik. She is survived by two sisters; Thelma Kelaher and Esther Smidowitz, daughter, Carol Lockshier of Stratford, former son in-law, John Lockshier, son, Andrew Pavlucik and his wife Patricia of Milford and son, David Pavlucik. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Noelle Foito, Alex Pavlucik, Gregory Pavlucik and his wife Tracy and Tiffany Tortora and her husband Michael. Joey had 7 great grandchildren; Daniel Foito, Christian Foito, Alexa Wargo, Angelina Wargo, Michael Tortora, Ava Tortora and her namesake, Josie Tortora. The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the nurses and staff of CT Hospice in Branford for their exceptional care of Josie, especially to Sarah and Katrona. Family and friends are invited to funeral services on Saturday, September 28, 2013 at 10:00 am directly at St. Peter & St. Paul Catholic Church, 105 Clifton Street, Ansonia, CT. Interment will follow in St. Peter & St. Paul Cemetery, Ansonia. There will be no prior calling hours. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Mighty Quinn Foundation,
